"Global health, for too many years, has been dominated by the Global North," said Carsten Schicker, CEO of the World Health Summit. "The crisis we are now facing creates the opportunity to build a global health system that is more equitable and more inclusive than what we had before."

Schicker shared his views on the future of global health governance in an exclusive interview with CGTN during the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia. In a world facing geopolitical fragmentation and eroding trust, Schicker calls for new leadership and stronger South-South cooperation. He emphasizes the importance of building a more resilient and equitable global health system and sees China as a key player in leading the Global South in this process.

Launched in 2009, the World Health Summit has provided a forum for exchange with policymakers and experts from academia, industry and civil society.
